A little-known fact about what went on that fateful week. Worth reading, in my opinion.

In the terrible confusion that followed the events of September 11, I never gave any thought to what happened to all those people who were on flights bound for the United States that were denied permission to enter U.S. air space. The story below from a member of the cockpit crew of Delta Flight 15 makes good reading, and gives one a feeling of warmth for those good neighbors of ours in Gander, Newfoundland, Canada. Small Beer" tombstone

I encountered this tombstone in England many years ago in a churchyard in Winchester, I believe.  It always intrigued me - for both its content and its humor.  I would appreciate any information explaining the true facts about our poor departed small beer drinker.  Indeed, I wonder what small beer actually is.
